The Challenge


Cube Series (Redmond, Oregon) designs and builds premium overland expedition trailers. When they came to us in early 2025:

  • Build cycle: ~1 trailer every 4 months

  • No centralized 3D CAD model of the complete trailer

  • Drawings existed only as scattered PDFs and hand sketches

  • Zero inventory management or part-numbering system

  • Every new trailer was essentially built from memory

Master 3D CAD Assembly

  • Full parametric Fusion model of the entire Cube Series trailer (500+ unique parts and sub-assemblies)

  • Every weldment, extrusion, panel, bracket, and fastener modeled and mated

Production Drawing Package

  • 250+ fully dimensioned manufacturing drawings with BOMs, revision history, and more

  • Weldment cut lists, flat-pattern DXFs for laser cutting, bend tables, and hardware callouts

Custom Cloud-Based ERP System Built on Retool

  • Complete bill of materials with vendor pricing and lead times

  • Part numbering system (intelligent, human-readable, and searchable)

  • Tablet-friendly shop floor interface so technicians can see exactly what to pull and where it goes

Inventory & Ordering Automation

  • Kanban-style reorder points

  • One-click purchase order generation to key Oregon and West Coast suppliers

  • Real-time stock visibility across the Redmond shop

 

Results – 6 Months After Go-Live

 

  • Trailer build time dropped from ~120 days to under 30 days

  • First-time build accuracy went from “measure twice, cut wrong once” to zero missing parts

  • Cube Series can now quote firm lead times to customers instead of “call us in a few months”

  • They are on track to ship 12–15 trailers per year instead of 3–4 — with the same headcount
